I’ve been thinking a blog would be a much better way to manage the news on this site. As it is now, we hack into the HTML source and add new items to the bottom (go ahead, take a look). That’s not so much fun and we post a lot less often than we’d like to.
We also plan to post other information that doesn’t necessarily qualify as news, things that we’ve learned while working on this project and whatever seems like it might be interesting or useful to somebody.
i live in beaverton which is pretty much a dull wasteland with people fixated on their lawns hardly knowing one another. however, my comment is on
bike paths. i have lived in other places and i expected oregon to be bike friendly after all the hype about eco city et cetera. i was shocked to find
a cyclist has to share the road with an auto. even bakersfield has a better bike path than portland — it is SEPARATE and runs for miles and miles. then
i purchased a bike map and it consisted of numerous incoherent crayon squiggles. i even tried to bike at Hagg Lake but discovered that is sharing the road with cars as well. on the day i was there 2 elderly cyclists were killed by
a car. my point is i am scared to cycle with cars sharing the same road and there is little thought given to dedicated bike paths i.e separate ones in a time
